Vocabulary Bingo

(TESOL Worksheets--Any Vocabulary Set)
Google: docs, pub
[Notes: An oldie but a goodie.  Standard bingo rules apply--cross out your box when you have a match, and 5 in a row (either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally) is a win.
This game has so many variations its difficult to list them all.  The teacher can pre-select the vocabulary, or (as indicated on this particular worksheet) the students can choose the vocabulary themselves.  The teacher can say the words directly.  Or the teacher can say the definitions, and the students have to match them to the words.  Or the game can be played in small groups, with the students saying the words or definitions for their group.
My preference is to have the students select the words for their bingo card from the vocabulary we have been studying in the course.  Then the students are put into groups, and one student in the group has to describe the vocabulary words without actually saying them directly.  The other students in the group mark off their bingo card accordingly.]
