I experienced this first-hand in a very small way today. After reading the latest news about the upcoming stricter lockdown, I went down to the local convenience store to get more bottled water (tap water not being 100% safe to drink in Vietnam) only to find that the store was crowded with people, and the bottle water was sold out.
