From VNexpress: HCMC hibernates as residents ordered indoors: Several streets in HCMC stood empty on the first day of a new social distancing period requiring residents to "stay where they are."

and from Reuters: Vietnam deploys troops to enforce lockdown in largest city

...this isn't actually that different from what was happening before, at least on a day by day basis.  We've already been staying locked down in our apartment since about April--leaving only to get food, toiletries, and get cash from the ATM.  The difference now is that possibly we may not be allowed to leave to even do that.  Or at least that it's going to be more difficult to get those essentials.  Fortunately, we should have just about enough to rice and water to last us for the 2 week lockdown, if nothing goes wrong.
