Page 7, exercise 1.2, #20--in accordance with the rules we are given on the previous page, the plural of la luz should be las luzes. Why then does the answer key say las luces? Is this an irregular plural? But then, why include irregular plurals as exercises? Shouldn't the exercises be used to practice the rules the learners have learnt? And if you are going to include irregulars, then shouldn't you explain them in the answer key?
Page 13, exercise 1.6, #3--the answer key seems to contradict the vocabulary given in this chapter. In this chapter, they define delgado as slender and flaco as thin. Then, in the answers to this exercise, they translate thin women as las mujeres delgadas. I understand of course that you could argue that slender and thin are synonyms, but then why did they go out of their way in the key vocabulary page to define them differently? And then having defined them differently, why don't they then stick to these definitions in the answer keys?
Page 13, exercise 1.6, #5: early the word song was given as la Canción (with an accent mark.) Why then is the plural given in the answer key as las canciones? Is this a typo, or does the accent mark disappear when we change it to the plural form? And if the accent mark does disappear in the plural form, then why wasn't this explained in the text of the chapter?
