This is a reread of sorts. I read the 3rd edition of this book last summer. I am rereading it now both because I want to solidify the concepts in my mind as much as possible, and because I have come to realize that I hadn't read the most current edition.
As a side note: I'm not sure how it was that I didn't get the most current edition when I ordered this book off of Amazon last summer. When I was searching for this book on Amazon last summer, the 3rd edition was the first one that popped up on my search. It didn't even occur to me that there were other editions. Although the 6th edition of this book changes part of the title to "Multilingual Learners" instead of "English Learners". So maybe that's why the newest edition didn't spring up when I was searching last summer.
