The “window of opportunity” to prevent catastrophic warming is closing : A UN agency warns that greenhouse gas emissions need to be cut dramatically by 2020 
So.... here's your depressing thought of the day.  Basically in order to avoid a global catastrophe, we needed to have started reducing Carbon rates 2 years ago.  Instead, the reality is that carbon emissions have increased since then, and a definitive deal to halt that growth appears as elusive as ever.
