I've been meaning to read this series. But the one time I spotted in Canada's big box bookstore I thought, "Man, that is ... quite ... the series. Too long for me (sh - don't tell Luce). I'm glad you're doing it.
Your secret is safe with me. (Is Luce a fan?)
I've got two more volumes to finish before I give my final opinion on this series, but I think at this point I can safely say: Don't spend a lot of money on it. If you can find it used, great. If you can get it out of your library (as I've been doing), great. But I wouldn't recommend paying a lot of money for it.
It's okay, but it's also underwhelming.
Luce is not a fan of this particular series but is, never the less, a manga collector so his shelves are larded. As the Cohen brothers forced Nic Cage to say: "Now, y'all without sin can throw the first stone..." Not me!
