I didn't know Anton Yelchin personally, so I can only grieve him for his roles. And I enjoyed his acting in Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, and I'm sorry he won't be around to do the role any more.

Yelchin was a very gifted actor. I saw Charlie Bartlett a couple of years ago at the urging of the girls -- not a movie I would have selected on my own -- and was quite taken. I'm super keen to see Green Room (w. Patrick Stewart). So lousy that this guy's contribution to film is cut short like this.
I saw about half of Fright Night a couple years ago on a plane. I never reviewed it on this blog, because I didn't see the whole thing. But I saw enough to see that Yelchin could anchor a movie in his own right, and didn't have to just be part of an ensemble cast. Had he lived out his full life, I'm sure Star Trek would eventually have just become a footnote in his resume, and he would have been remembered as a star.
I never even heard of those other movies you mentioned, but I googled the Green Room just now. It sounds...interesting. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts after you see it. Are you going to review it on your blog?
I'll probably have to watch it on demand, since it's already left the theatres here. But I won't commit to reviewing it until I've actually seen it.
