Since this is the last volume, this also means that I've now finished all of Journey to the West.
I think I'll do 2 reviews. One review summarizing the 4th volume only. And then one final review on the whole novel. I'll try to do both of these as soon as possible---over the next couple days, time allowing.

You may want to consider watching https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_to_the_West_(1986_TV_series) as well. You can watch at least the initial episodes with English subtitles on Dailymotion, though if my memory doesn't serve me wrong I saw many English subtitled episodes on Youtube too.
Unfortunately, I can't commit myself to a TV series at the moment. Not with two young kids. But... just out of curiosity, is this 1986 series the same series that seems to have been so influential with all the Vietnamese people that I know? I know it's been made into a series multiple times over the years, but there's one specific version that every Vietnamese person seems to have watched, right?
Yup. That's the one. Broadcasted every summer so its music coming from the TV has the same effects as the cicadas, whose noises tell people that it's summer. Other TV series versions don't even have anything notable that people know about, unless criticisms counted (in comparison to TV series adapted from Jin Yong's[1] novels, some versions may have their own good things people prefer)
[1] Kim Dung in Vietnamese. He's famous enough in Vietnam I think you might have heard of him or people talking about TV series adapted from his novels.
I hadn't heard of Jin Yong, but I googled him just now, and he does look pretty interesting. I like historical novels, so his stuff would probably be right up my alley.
