With all the gun control talk domestically, I've found that most of the people around me who want to and own guns, are actually for more background checks. I think that most people who want guns, also want good responsible people to still be allowed to have guns. And, they want to prevent mentally unstable, unsafe, unwise, people from obtaining them. What's interesting is that there is very little ammo left in stores. People are stockpiling because these Obama gun controls haven't come through yet.

This fits quite well with data I have read, that said the NRA membership (not the leadership, but the rank and file members) are actually in favor of more background checks in gun buying
