During an in-class writing exercise, a student wrote the sentence: "It was a complex task for me to complete it correctly."
My native speaker intuition told me that she should delete the "it" after "complete it".
But why?
"complete" is a transitive verb, so it should require an object.
So why was there no object after complete here?
