Gift Cards for Speaking Activity

(TESOL Worksheets--Speaking)
Google (Drive, Docs, Pub)
[I used this to supplement a lesson from Lifestyles Pre-Intermediate textbook.  This was the production at the end of a lesson in which students had been taught multiple ways to express gratitude in English.  However, I think this activity can be used independently, so I'm posting it here.
Students write out a gift card for every one in the class.  (For classes in which not everyone knows everyone's name, I have each student say their name before the activity, and write all the names on the board.)  The gifts are entirely imaginary, so students can give anything they want to, and be as extravagant as they want to.
Then, after all the gift cards are given out, the students go around the room finding each person, and giving them their gifts.  The point of the activity is to practice language for thanking someone, and for responding to thanks.]
