A shame. This past May I read (and reviewed) his book Chomsky's Universal Grammar: An Introduction. I gave that book a mixed review, while at the same time acknowledging that the problem might be with me and my limited intellect. 

I've also been following Vivian Cook on Twitter for the past couple years, and he seemed like a nice person.
