Another cracked.com list that had me chuckling:
The 5 Stupidest Ways Important People Leaked Deadly Secrets

**********************************************************************

On a completely separate note, has everyone been following this "who gets to go to heaven" controversy?

So, first the Pope indicated that Atheists could be redeemed by Jesus.  It's a surprisingly progressive move, and arguably I should be pleased by it, but instead I kept wondering: How does he know?  There's nothing in the Bible to indicate this, plus it goes against centuries of Church doctrine.  (And if you're Catholic, church doctrine is supposed to be important.)
Did new evidence come to light?  Or is he just making it all up as he goes along?
And then the Vatican changed it's mind and issued another statement:
Vatican: Sorry! Atheists can’t go to heaven, after all
Based on what exactly are all these pronouncements made?  Did they do empirical testing on the issue and collect new data?  Did they find some sort of new evidence?
I mean, surely, they wouldn't presume to tell millions of people who's going to heaven and who's going to hell without some sort of evidence, right?  They wouldn't just blatantly issue blanket statements like this and expect everyone to believe them, would they?
